About "Brookville Holiday Association's Annual Christmas Kickoff Celebration"

Dear Brookville Community,

The Brookville Holiday Association is diligently working to prepare for their 17th annual festival and parade. This event signals the beginning of the holiday season and takes place the Friday after Thanksgiving in beautiful, downtown Brookville. Featured are family friendly, fun activities along with vendors serving hot, delicious food and holiday crafts and games beginning at 5:00PM on Friday, November 29th, 2024.

Pre-parade activities include automated train rides around downtown, a face painter, Jefferson County History Center train display, children’s crafts under the big tents sponsored by community organizations, and the Brookville Community Band playing holiday tunes. Most events are free to the public so bring your cameras along with the family and enjoy the evening!

There will be a contest for best decorated decorated business store front on Main Street. See the rules page for more information. Click Here to register! Top prize for each category is $200.00, second place is $100.00!

Holiday street decorations and the Community Christmas tree in the Courthouse yard are officially lighted during this event. The culminating activity is the parade filled with live music, floats, marching units, fire trucks and the arrival of Santa atop a BVFC truck. Does your organization wish to participate on a float, a walking group, band or any type of unit to highlight your organization? Line up starts at the Presbyterian Church at 6:30 PM. Click Here for an online registration form or just fall in line. Monetary prizes of $250.00 will be awarded for best commercial float, best non-commercial float, best decorated emergency vehicle and judge’s choice award.

Santa meets and listens to each child as they share their gift list and then receive a box of sweets from Mrs. Claus. Santa continues to have hours in his cottage in front of the Courthouse until Christmas weekend. Please check times posted on the cottage.

We are appealing to the community and surrounding area to consider a donation to help sponsor one of the above listed activities to this Committee to assure this tradition continues. Call 814-715-0327 if you have questions or suggestions. Please click here to learn more about donating to this great cause. The magic that is the holiday season can continue to be reflected in the faces of our children with your assistance and support.

We thank you for your continued support of our community oriented event.
